You all know what it takes to make a Home Economics class run smoothly!! Why not take some of the pressure off? For years I have taught senior level foods classes with a heavy emphasis on students cooking as much as possible. This much lab time can take its toll because it also means I do a lot of demonstrations of full recipes, specific skills or techniques. When a colleague introduced me to recording demos for future use, it completely changed my life.
In this workshop, I will discuss the benefits of recording demos not only in Foods courses but also for Textiles! You will learn about recording demonstrations, a brief demonstration of how to use Movie Maker for editing, ideas to easily organize and access your demo recordings , and editing online recordings.
If possible, please bring a laptop with Movie Maker and either a recording you have made yourself with a webcam or phone or a downloaded video from youtube, to practice editing.
