This session is the first of 3 seminars (a total of 6 hours) to obtain Level 1 Certification in the NSTEP program.
Knowledge transfer of NSTEP EAT WALK LIVE content and WHY healthy eating, physical activity, student leadership to school and community health champions are vital for students achieving their best. The NSTEP EAT WALK LIVE Certificate is an inter-disciplinary collaborative initiative between NSTEP and various post-secondary institutions. Piloted four years ago at Tsuut’ina Education Alberta, more and more requests for NSTEP content have come from U of C Nursing and MRU Faculty of Education. NSTEP is continually creating new resources and materials as we continuously learn more about neuroscience research and its application to education. The certificate will enable the recipient to access more NSTEP EAT WALK LIVE materials, become a health champion catalyst in their community and in their profession.
The three seminars are based on the NSTEP EAT WALK LIVE Professional Development program which is a year-long initiative into schools and schools as community hubs. To earn the certificate, the participant must attend all three seminars. We are creating the full series in a live on line format in collaboration with SAIT to create a wave of health across Canada.
We recommend that you attend the morning session of What is NSTEP? to gain a deeper overview and then dive into the details. We welcome your input in this interactive presentation. Get ready to MOVE so wear comfy clothes and shoes.
